 Job Title: Governance Executive Assistant

Description\Duties

  • Provide in-person administrative support to Chief and Council;
  • Arranging and managing space bookings, hotels, and travel for Chief and Council;
  • Providing additional support for meetings and managing notes, documents, and Council packages, and more;
  • Taking minutes at Council meetings;
  • Organize schedules and ensure no overlap of meetings with events or travel;
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail;
  • Filing paper and digital copies of documents;
  • Provide technical support for online or in-person meetings and able to troubleshoot when issues arise;
  • Filing and archiving paperwork such as invoices and other documentation;
  • Photocopying, printing, scanning and faxing documents as required;
  • Working with CFN Finance, track requisition payments for all office expenses;
  • Demonstrated skills in report writing; technical document review; organizing meetings and events;
  • Maintaining and sending out weekly calendar updates on the meetings;
  • Experience working in an office environment;
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including days, afternoons, nights and weekends;
  • Able to travel as requested;
  • Send out bulletins and updates to administration and membership.

Qualifications  

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in office administration, a related field, or a combination of education and experience;
  • Previous experience working in a First Nation is an asset;
  • Must have computer skills and proven experience with word processing, spreadsheets, file management;
  • Must have valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license with reliable method of transportation;
  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Experience in research and analysis;
  • Proven to be accurate, timely, detail oriented, organized, a self-start and able to prioritize workload; · Able to type 60 WPM;
  • Other duties as reasonably required.

Salary: $40,000.00-$48,000.00 per year

Hours of Work: • 8-hour shift • Day shift • Monday to Friday • Morning shift • Weekend availability
