Job Title: Production Operator

Description\Duties

  • Weigh materials, ingredients, and products to ensure conformance to Master Formulation
  • Add all accessory materials to product such as scoops and desiccant packs
  • Package and seal finished product
  • Use accessory equipment such as pumps and conveyors to move materials or ingredients through production processes
  • Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas, using moving equipment and hand tools
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing, if required
  • Record operational and production data on specific format
  • Meet production goals and guidelines for the product being run
  • Check the room for cleanliness and ensure no other product is present
  • Clean and maintain equipment, using hand tools
  • Advise supervisor of any issues that may occur
  • All activities performed must follow the specific SOPs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • Two years’ related experience or equivalent technical training/certification preferred; or a combination of related experience and technical training/certification
  • Knowledge of Metric and Imperial weighing and measurements systems
  • Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and the operating principles of control systems
  • Demonstrated mathematical ability in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios and percentages
  • Ability to use a calculator
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions including SOP’s and Batch Record documentation
  • Accurate and precise in recording data and batch information
  • Demonstrated ability to work in both independent and team environments
  • Proficient in reading and writing English to understand work instructions and document results
  • Demonstrated ability to operate pharmaceutical processing equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to meet required standards of GMP
  • Walk, stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Grab, grasp and use fingers and hands to pack products and prepare shipments
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment, as instructed
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack safely

Salary: $15.50+ with potential for regular raises based on performance.

Hours of Work: Full-time, Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Occasional Saturdays.

Position Requires a Personal Vehicle: No

Additional Information

  • Majority of work time will be spent in production and warehouse where temperatures are cool/hot and noise level can be moderate to high
  • Position is exposed to small particles, allergens and odours
  • Position is required to wear common protective and/or safety gear, i.e. gloves, facemask, hairnet, etc.
