Job Title: General Maintenance Labourer
NOC Code: 6733
Description\Duties
- Has knowledge of all farm operations, equipment, and maintenance responsibilities
- Has low voltage electrical experience and knowledge; completes minor electrical jobs
- Performs minor and major repairs on buildings and equipment unsupervised including, but not limited to, welding, replacing and repairing parts, hydraulics, pneumatics, low voltage electrical, and equipment, buildings and facilities
- Completes preventative maintenance duties and completes checklists as assigned
- Performs operational checks on boilers as scheduled (L, K only) and cropping room checks after case days (verifies safety of catwalks, front of room, trays, straightens legs, etc.)
- Assists in evaluating jobs and determines requirements g. May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Assists and supports contractors
- Assists in verifying that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are operable, as requested
- Assists maintenance personnel with major and minor repairs
- Performs building upkeep, including shop cleaning, painting, removing garbage, etc.
- Performs occasional grounds keeping as required
- Installs, repairs and inspects air bags and air handling systems in each room for damage
- Constructs catwalks and front of rooms as needed
- Observes and reports any issues on farm
- Able to come in after hour call-ins
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance/repair preferred
- Experience and/or education/training in pneumatic controls, welding, hydraulics, farm equipment is an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License
Salary: TBD
Hours of Work: Full time days 7:00am-5:00pm, work on a weekend every 3rd week
