Job Title: Weld Engineer

NOC Code: 2142


  • Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Will work with minimal supervision
  • Create, manage and review welding procedures, processes, and documentation.
  • Work with other departments to analyze and prepare data submission to the customer
  • Manage welding procedure qualifications and generate welding procedures to help the manufacturing and welding team’s execution.
  • Conducts and or assists on failure analyses and root cause analyses on welding issues; ensures and insists that an investigation takes place for any process failure
  • Monitors quality of welds; trained in all phases of weld troubleshooting
  • Recommend necessary adjustments to parts and machinery, to ensure proper production run
  • Rework and Plasma cutter
  • Equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Communicate and work effectively with work-team members and other areas of the company.
  • Understand and comply with the worker responsibilities and rights as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&S) of Ontario, as well as the Company’s safety rules/procedures in the Employee Handbook.
  • Understand and comply with policies, procedures and standards of conduct as outlined in the Employee Handbook.


  • 3-year diploma in Welding Engineering Technology with 2-4 years of experience
  • Experience in managing automated or semi-automated MIG Welding, Spot weld and Weld nut processes in automotive environment
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required


  • Familiarity with FCA standards.
  • Understanding of CQI-15
