Job Title: Telecommunications Technician
NOC Code: 7246
Description\Duties
- Complete Installation, Programming, Verification and Inspection of CCTV, access control, intercom/PA systems, security/card access, cameras and Communication systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair copper/fiber cabling systems, most often involved with office/business and plant networks, security systems and a variety of other data applications
- Install various support structures, including cable racks, cable tray, j-hooks, innerduct, and other related structures
- Respond to service calls and provide technical support to customers as needed
- Complete and return inspection reports in a timely manner
- Provide operational training to end-users
- Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Unique
- Read, understand and stay current on technologies, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals
Qualifications
- Candidate shall have experience as a Service Technician
- Knowledge of Communication & Security systems would be a major asset
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills, written and verbal in English
- Solid problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to lift equipment, tools and climb ladders of varying highs
- Proven ability to work independently, with little supervision and must be able to organize and prioritize the completion of their daily tasks assigned
- Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license (Class G)
- Ability to read and understand design drawings
- Competency with computer
- Enjoy being part of a Team work environment
