Job Title: Telecommunications Technician

NOC Code: 7246

Description\Duties

  • Complete Installation, Programming, Verification and Inspection of CCTV, access control, intercom/PA systems, security/card access, cameras and Communication systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair copper/fiber cabling systems, most often involved with office/business and plant networks, security systems and a variety of other data applications
  • Install various support structures, including cable racks, cable tray, j-hooks, innerduct, and other related structures
  • Respond to service calls and provide technical support to customers as needed
  • Complete and return inspection reports in a timely manner
  • Provide operational training to end-users
  • Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Unique
  • Read, understand and stay current on technologies, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals

Qualifications  

  • Candidate shall have experience as a Service Technician
  • Knowledge of Communication & Security systems would be a major asset
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills, written and verbal in English
  • Solid problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to lift equipment, tools and climb ladders of varying highs
  • Proven ability to work independently, with little supervision and must be able to organize and prioritize the completion of their daily tasks assigned
  • Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license (Class G)
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings
  • Competency with computer
  • Enjoy being part of a Team work environment

Additional Information

  • Technical Support: 2 years (Preferred)
